Professional Background and Expertise
Edward Galvan brings over two decades of progressive nursing experience, beginning as a Registered Nurse in 2002 and advancing to Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). His early career focused on specialized pediatric care at Children’s Medical Dallas (2002–2004), where he managed children with complex pulmonary conditions, including asthma, cystic fibrosis complications, mechanical ventilation, tracheostomy care, IV/oral medications, and parenteral nutrition, while providing sensitive family communication.
He then transitioned to adult care at Harris Methodist Fort Worth (2004–2008), supporting post-stroke, orthopedic (hip/knee/back), and trauma rehabilitation patients. A key responsibility was discharge planning to facilitate safe transitions home or to long-term/skilled nursing facilities, alongside medication administration, pain control, and general medical-surgical care.
From 2008 to 2011 at Methodist Mansfield Hospital, he worked on a telemetry unit overseeing 5–6 patients per shift, handling daily surgical dressing changes, extensive pain management, insulin injections, scheduled medications, and assisting with ADLs such as feeding, bathing, and transfers.
As an FNP-C, Edward has expanded his scope to include advanced clinical skills such as joint injections, minor suturing, toenail removal, phlebotomy, and patient education in critical areas like ostomy bag management, fall prevention, and medication compliance. He is bilingual in English and Spanish, enabling effective communication with diverse populations. His certifications include ANCC (FNP), BLS, ACLS, DOT/NRCME, and MLT/ASCP, reflecting his commitment to high standards in primary care, preventive medicine, and procedural expertise.
